Aloo Tikki Chaat

Simple, easy and consisting of all flavor elements tangy, spicy, sweet, crunchy are the variety of indian street food and the best part is they can be enjoyed anytime of the day !! 💛💚

One of the north indian street food specialty is aloo tikki chaat which is a combination of potato patty, curd, spicy coriander chutney, sweet tamarind chutney, chopped onions, tomatoes and chaat masala together making up this delicious dish.

Aloo tikkis are one of those which can be enjoyed as is with some sweet tomato chutney or spicy coriander chutney or make it street style and enjoy those patties with ragda as ragda patties or make some aloo tikki chaat.

This simple and easy recipe will come as super hack for a meal planner too and also come together in just less than 30 mins.👩‍🍳❣️

We can pre make the aloo tikkis which are mashed potato patty and store them in refrigerator up to 5 days in air tight container. There are ways to make those either you can deep fry the patty or you can shallow fry those on the iron skillet which would be certainly cooked using lesser oil. You can also bake these aloo tikkis with minimal oil at 350 degree F for about 8-10 minutes on each side by spraying oil on each side before you flip them in oven.

I like to keep my recipes on a slight healthier scale by keeping oil content to minimal so the ones in this recipe are shallow fried on iron skillet by using oil spray and thus using lesser oil. This does not compromise on the taste compared to deep fried tikki at all.

If you plan on having these tikkis as is, serve with some spicy coriander chutney and some sweet tamarind chutney too.

When you have the tikkis ready then the next thing in making aloo tikki chaat is just assembling the dish together. That's right ! you have another quick go to recipe for some snacking ideas on your busy days.
