Fish Curry

Fish curry and rice makes a blissful meal anytime of the day !! 💛


Weekends with flavorful, spicy and delicious fish curry with hot steamed rice never fails to put together happiness on a plate❣️


Fish Curry

Ingredients -

  • Salmon Fillets, frozen or fresh

  • Onion, 1 large, roughly chopped

  • Tomatoes, 1, roughly chopped

  • Tamarind Pulp, 3 tbsp

  • Garlic, 2 cloves, whole

  • Ginger, 1 inch, roughly chopped

  • Ginger garlic paste, 2 tbsp

  • Green Chillies, 3

  • Red chillies, 3

  • Salt, 1 tbsp

  • Chilli powder, 1 tbsp

  • Turmeric, 1 tsp

  • Garam masala powder, 1 tbsp

  • Fish curry Masala, 2 tbsp

  • Lime juice, 1 tbsp

  • Water, 2 cups

  • Oil, 4 tbsp

  • Cilantro, 1 cup, fine chopped

Recipe -

Marinating Salmon-

Mix together 1 tsp chilli powder, ginger garlic paste with 1 tsp turmeric and 2 tbsp lime juice. Add 1 tsp salt. Make a paste and apply it to salmon. Let it sit for atleast 45 mins.


Making Curry Paste -

Blend together onion, tomato, dried red chillies, green chillies, cloves of garlic, ginger and make a smooth paste.


Take 4 tbsp oil in a pan on medium heat and add in the paste. Let it cover and cook for approx 10 mins on low heat, Then add chilli powder and salt. Add in fish curry masala and cook for a min. Cook until oil starts secreting from the paste (approx another 6-8 minutes) Then add 2 cups of water and transfer in marinated pieces of salmon. Cook on low flame for 10 mins.


Add freshly chopped cilantro and 2 tbsp lime juice. Cover and let it sit for at least 1 hour to make the flavors blend in well.


Enjoy with hot steamed rice.
